Boarding

What do you do with your pets when you must leave town without them? Does the thought of finding a family member or friend to care for them cause you stress? Relax and rest assured your furry family member is in good hands when they stay with us at Airport Veterinary Hospital! You can make Airport Veterinary Hospital your pet’s home away from home for pet boarding in the Calera and Birmingham, Alabama areas.

The boarding area at Airport Veterinary Hospital is staffed with a caring, experienced team that is directly supervised by our veterinarian, Dr. Buchanan. Our modern facility is climate-controlled and always kept immaculately clean. Our dog boarders are walked three times each day, and our feline friends are kept in a separate boarding area, away from the stress created by barking dogs.

Please remember to bring any special diets or medications, so we may administer them to your pet. Also, favorite toys or blankets are welcome to help your furry friend to feel even more at home.

For the safety of your pet, and that of our other boarders, all pets must be current on their vaccination schedule prior to their stay at Airport Veterinary Hospital. Canines are required to be up-to-date on rabies, bordetella, distemper virus, adenovirus, parainfluenza virus, parvovirus, and leptospirosis vaccinations. Our feline boarders must be current with rabies, rhinotracheitis virus, calicivirus, and panleukopenia virus. If your pet is not up-to-date on their vaccinations, or if you are unsure of their vaccination history, please call in advance to have your pets properly immunized.

The next time you must leave your home without your pet in the Calera area, plan to let them stay at the boarding facility at Airport Veterinary Hospital. Our boarding area fills up quickly, especially during the summer and over holidays, so please call ahead to schedule a stay for your furry family member. Call one of the caring team members at Airport Veterinary Hospital, and we will treat your pet like one of our own.
